Peer Review Process

Submitted papers are evaluated by anonymous referees by blind peer review for contribution, originality, relevance, and presentation.

The process can be described as follow:

  1. The submitted manuscript is first reviewed by an editor. It will be evaluated whether it is suitable for Jurnal Tekstil focus and scope or has a major methodological flow and similarity score by using Turnitin/iThentichate. The decision is rejecting or accept for a review process.
  2. The manuscript will undergo the Double Blind review process. This means that the identities of the authors will be concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa. Reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses.
  3. Afterward, the editorial team suggested the final decision to accept, reject or revise the manuscript by authors.
  4. Finally, the Editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.
  5. The accepted manuscript then continued to the copy editing and layout editing process to prepare the camera-ready paper.

Author Responsibility During the Review and Revision Process

After manuscript submission, the review process will normally take 1–3 months, with an average duration of approximately 2 months. By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Tekstil, the author(s) acknowledge that the peer-review process requires substantial time and effort from reviewers and editors and agree to remain actively involved throughout the review and revision process. The author(s) are responsible for ensuring that the corresponding author remains reachable and responsive throughout the editorial process.

Following the completion of peer review, the author(s) are required to submit a revised manuscript addressing the reviewers' and editor's comments within the revision deadline. If the corresponding author cannot be reached, the editorial office may attempt to contact the other author(s) listed on the manuscript regarding the status of the manuscript and the required revision. Failure to respond to the journal or failure to submit the required revision without prior communication may result in the manuscript being considered withdrawn or closed by the editorial office. The journal may issue reminders before taking such action; however, the journal is not obligated to keep a manuscript active indefinitely when the author(s) fail to respond.

Withdrawal Policy

The author(s) is agreeing to not withdraw the manuscript during the reviewing process. The author(s) should revise the manuscript after the first feedback is sent under the due date. Reviewing a paper takes time and a huge effort from the reviewers. Therefore, withdrawal during the review process or first stage of revision is unacceptable. If the author(s) wish to withdraw the manuscript for legitimate reasons, they must submit a formal withdrawal request to the editorial office and provide an explanation. Withdrawal without prior communication, particularly after the manuscript has been reviewed or after revision comments have been issued, is considered unacceptable.

If the author(s) withdraw the manuscript after the first stage of peer review/revision, or if the manuscript is closed due to the author(s)' failure to respond after repeated reminders, Jurnal Tekstil reserves the right to decline new manuscript submissions from the same author(s) for a period of one (1) year from the date of withdrawal or closure.

By submitting a manuscript to Jurnal Tekstil, the author(s) confirm that they understand and agree to remain reachable, respond to editorial communications, and complete required revisions within the deadlines established by the journal
